In recognition of Holocaust Education Month, the Jewish Federation of Ottawa's Shoah Committee invites you to a special screening of the documentary Memories of a Room, by Annette Beissel and Gilles Frenken, followed by a conversation and Q&A with Dr. Hartley Stern, Interim CEO of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa.
Memories of a Room tells the remarkable story of a Jewish family of eight who survived the Holocaust together while in hiding in the Netherlands. Among them was Dr. Hartley Stern's mother, whose experiences bring a deeply personal connection to this powerful story of courage, survival and resilience.
Following the screening, Alex Munter, Chair of the Jewish Federation of Ottawa's Shoah Committee, will lead a conversation with Dr. Stern about his family's experiences and the importance of preserving Holocaust memory for future generations. Audience questions are welcome.
At a time when Holocaust remembrance and education are more important than ever, we invite you to join us for a meaningful evening of learning, reflection and remembrance.
